Liquid Vitamins from Liquid Vitality
Ingredients: Vitamin C Ascorbic Acid
Ascorbic acid, or vitamin C, is a water-soluble substance common in citrus fruits and green vegetables. Ascorbic acid is an excellent antioxidant, known for protecting tissues from oxidation and the devastation of free radicals. Ascorbic acid facilitates iron absorption and is necessary in the formation of collagen (a protein used in skin, cartilage, spinal discs, teeth, bones and arteries.)
Ascorbic acid promotes the healing of cuts, scrapes, burns and wounds, prevents many contaminants from being converted into carcinogens, and aids in fighting infection. Ascorbic acid seems to cause blood vessels and arteries to dialate, thus lowering blood pressure and preventing certain types of heart disease. Ascorbic acid has also been shown to help control blood cholesterol levels.
Interestingly, paprika was once the main source for vitamin C supplementation.
